Daylesford Farm Summer Festival
Every year Daylesford invites some of the best local artisan producers and businesses to join them for a Summer Festival, highlighting the very best seasonal produce. The festival also offer food demonstrations from Daylesford’s highly skilled producers and chefs; barbecues sizzling with organic burgers and in the café a special menu celebrates the very best of summer. Children are kept amused for hours, visiting the chicks, ducks, lambs and calves or doing pottery painting, riding on toy tractors and beautiful vintage pedal cars.
LUXURY AND COUNTRY LIVING – Daylesford has to be the most luxurious farm shop around… so when they throw together a summer festival, of course this, too, will be of the luxury kind.
The Daylesford Summer Festival is country living at it’s best. It’s all the fun of a summer market with lots to experience for children and adults alike, presented by the great luxury brands of the Cotswolds country.
A GREAT FESTIVAL FOR KIDS – The adults will love all the Daylesford Summer Farm Summer Festival has to offer, but the kids are never left out. This year the organizers invited a great number of businesses that made sure the kids were kept happy too. There were the retro pedal cars, Giffords Circus, tractor rides, chicks and sheep, helium balloons, dog shows and a beautiful merry-go-round for the little ones.
THE THOUGHT BEHIND – During the Daylesford Farm Summer Festival, visitors are invited to meet the animals of the farm. This is fun for the children, of course, but it also gives you a sense of what Daylesford is all about, which is the promotion of sustainability, organic farming and responsibly sourced foods as dreamt up by founder Carole Bamford.
AS ORGANIC AS IT COMES – All the food on offer at Daylesford, comes straight from the farm. Meat from their own animals, fruit and vegetables grown in the market garden, bread from the bakery (baked by a master baker), and cheese, milk and yoghurt from their own creamery. To make soups and meals, the resident chefs use only the freshest ingredients, combined with simple techniques to bring out the natural flavours of seasonal, organic produce.
Head Tutor Steve Brown gave free demonstrations throughout the day in The Daylesford Cookery School on the farm and visitors were invited to sharpen up their kitchen skills with a sample of what is taught on the new selection of courses.

THE WAGGIEST AND THE SCRUFFIEST – Every year the Daylesford Dog Show starts early in the day, so if you have a handsome hound or perfect pooch who you think could win, go there to enter first thing when the market opens. The dog show has four classes where the winner will win a lovely rosette: The Waggiest Tail, The Scruffiest Dog, Dog Most Like its Owner and The Best Dressed Dog.
A FOODIE’S PARADISE – Apart from the Daylesford restaurant, where the regular menu is offered, on this day food stalls can be found all over the grounds, both with Daylesford’s own produce, but also by other great, local food producers… one thing is for sure, you won’t leave Daylesford’s Summer Festival hungry!
On the day, Daylesford’s very own award-winning chefs were joined by some of their favourite food producers from across the country in the lively market area. The organic cider (made by Head Gardener Jez) was available alongside award-winning cheese from John Longman, award-winning bread from Head Baker, Eric, and delicious hot organic soups and stews from Andy and his skilled team in the Daylesford farm kitchens.
