Just back from a most wonderful dinner at Wild Thyme in Chipping Norton, we’re excited to share our experience and recommend this fantastic gem of a gourmet restaurant in the Cotswolds.
A whole new level of cooking
Wild Thyme serves delicious and interesting seasonal dishes using the finest ingredients, exciting and modern British food with Mediterranean influences. Now, that’s explaining the menu with words, which doesn’t actually do the food we just enjoyed any justice. Every single dish looked delicious on the menu, but created and served, they reached a whole new level and more than lived up to our expectations, we can’t wait to go back to try some more.
Best duck dish ever
The star of the evening was the pan roasted Devonshire duckling breast, duck & herb ravioli, winter greens, baby onions, oyster mushrooms with green peppercorn sauce. Oh wow, so delicious, well prepared and presented, the best duck dish ever.
A wonderful and cosy space
The restaurant is a wonderful and cosy space, and with room for just 35 diners (14 in the back room, 21 in the main restaurant), an intimate and friendly atmosphere is created at each table, and throughout with lovely decor and candlelit spaces. Top class service is delivered by the lovely staff, for whom no special request is too much trouble. Thank You, Wild Thyme, for this fantastic culinary experience… we’re already looking forward to seeing you again.
