A lovely spa day at Wyck Hill House

Allow me to set the scene: On my way to Wyck Hill House Hotel & Spa in Stow-on-the-Wold for a relaxing and luxurious spa day with one of my besties. The sun is shining, the Cotswolds is looking beautiful, I have the windows rolled down, the wind in my hair and I’m singing my heart out to my favourite country music playlist on Spotify…. Yes, the #SummerOf17 #Staycation in the Cotswolds has well and truly begun.

    Coffee, Cookies and Cotswold Life

Then I arrive at wonderful Wyck Hill House, a stunning 18th century country house hotel. My friend is running late but that’s okay, I’m offered a coffee and homemade cookies, I take a seat in one of the comfy sofas in the library, then pick up Cotswold Life and make myself comfortable. I read the ‘Cotswold Voice’ by Adam Edwards (very funny) and ‘Living in an Aga saga’ by Clare Mackintosh (I love her.. her books and her musings in magazines, her updates on social media. Clare, I need ‘Let Me Lie’ to come out already!). Then my friend comes and the spa treat begins.

    Let the spa treat begin

We’re greeted warmly by the staff in the spa. Tiffany, who is positively lovely and who I learn has been working in the spa at Wyck Hill House for 6 years, shows me into the treatment room where the most wonderful (and at times excrutiating!) massage is about to take place.

Following the massage, it was time for a manicure and polish. With an extensive list of treatments, it wasn’t easy to choose our two treatments but we were delighted with our picks and left invigorated and relaxed. Read more about the Wyck Hill House Spa here.

    A really lovely lunch

Spa treatments done, it was time for a delicious lunch in the beautiful conservatory restaurant with a wonderful Cotswold view of the Windrush Valley on all sides. We were greeted by friendly waiting staff, seated and offered menus. We both chose the asparagus starter and the chicken main, and what great choices they were. Fresh produce prepared expertly by the chef and turned into a top-class dining experience for us, a perfect way to finish a lovely spa treat.
