The Highway Inn is located on the High Street in wonderful Burford. It is a Cotswold Pub and restaurant visited by locals and tourists alike, as well as a lovely hotel, full of character with creaky floorboards, sloping floors and low beams throughout.
The Highway Inn is a family-friendly hotel that offers all the modern touches like refurbished bathrooms, LCD TVs with Freeview and free WI-FI, but throughout the most beautiful antiques and quirky items from the past adorn all hallways and rooms.
Owners are Jane, Dan and Michelle and along with their team they warmly welcome you to the Highway Inn which dates back to 1480, has been an Inn for 16 years, but which they took over in the beginning of 2014.
The Highway Inn is rated 4-star by Visit Britain and in 2008 Alastair Sawday visited and awarded the Inn with a recommendation in both the British Hotels and Inns, and Pubs and Inns Guide Books. In 2009, following a secret inspection from the Michelin guide a recommendation for 2010/11/12 was awarded, along with a Good Pub Guide entry for the same years.
The Highway Restaurant offers a great range of classic and contemporary dishes, and is already famous for several Classics such as; Ribs, Burgers and Fish & Chips. The chef uses fresh ingredients sourced locally where possible and it has that “proper” Cotswold pub feel.
The cellar at The Highway Inn is the recently opened ‘Duck & Pinot’ Wine & Tapas Bar where you can enjoy a drink and a bar snack in the most cosy of spaces.
