Cheltenham’s friendly neighbourhood restaurant and bar. A favourite of locals, The Tavern started with a simple mission…to deliver delicious food at reasonable prices. Our mission remains the same.

From 8th September, favourites of old unite with the new to bring our much loved ‘under counter’ menu, ‘over counter’.

Tuck in and experience locally sourced, British produce that’s carefully crafted into punchy and full flavoured dishes. Savour your way through our taverna style menu from Tavern Classics, filling Hereford Beef Short Rib and of course finishing with some utterly sinful puddings.

The menu is relaxed and comforting, made up of delicious taverna style food from Europe and far beyond. Punchy flavours made with wonderful produce.

Newbies include Spicy Pork and Fennel Meatballs, Salt ‘n’ Pepper Squid with Noc Cham, Hereford Beef Short Rib, white Bean, Girolles & Salsa Verde and Whole Brown Crab & Mayonnaise. The Queen of Banana Splits has also made the final cut.

And when you’re finished with food, pull up a chair and grab a tipple allowing the familiar atmosphere of The Tavern to capture your evening, knowing that if you stay late, we’ll play late. Revel in music as we turn down the lights and turn up the volume. You’re in for the night…

Our talented bartenders use fantastic local produce to create some of the finest cocktails in Cheltenham. Muddling and mixing the perfect ingredients to emulate an old favourite or a new creation. Their experience, knowledge and awards for service make them a bar team to be reckoned with. Passionate about all things liquid ranging from spirits and cocktails to craft beers and even the non-alcoholic side of the industry. That’s right, we’ve even got your designated drivers covered with our mocktails.

Midday until 3pm and 6pm until 10:30pm from  Monday -Friday

Midday until 10:30pm on Saturdays

Midday to 9:30pm on Sundays
