Today we enjoyed the most wonderful of lunches at Lygon Bar & Grill at The Lygon Arms in Broadway. This was not our first time here (and you not it was not our last), as we’ve had the pleasure of enjoying several breakfasts, lunches and dinners in this beautiful restaurant, but today was extra special as we were checking out the brand new menu.

With some delicious sounding new dishes, and some Lygon-classics that they simply couldn’t leave out of the new menu, we had the difficult task of choosing what to have. After some deliberation, we went for the soufflé and the parsnip & apricot soup for starters, the monk fish and beef pie for mains and two classics for pudding, the sticky date & toffee pudding and the fruit crumble. Everything was SO delicious, and as always with the culinary delights at The Lygon, everything was taken to another level in taste and presentation, but the soufflé was several levels further even. With a tasty, almost crusty outside, and lighter than air throughout the inside, it was the best soufflé we’d ever had… ever, ever.

So the menu was new, but the setting and the service was the same as always: Beautiful and first class, in that order. The Lygon Bar & Grill is one of our all-time favourite restaurants, anywhere. The most beautiful setting, always a cosy atmosphere and a stunning open fireplace, which today had a hot, roaring fire burning. We love it. And as for the service: Always friendly and always first class. A special mention to Adrian who mostly served our table during lunch today.
