Autumn & Christmas wreath-making workshops at The Lygon Arms

This autumn and winter, The Lygon Arms invites guests to slow down, reconnect, and embrace the beauty of the season with its much-loved wreath-making workshops paired with a sumptuous Cotswold Afternoon Tea. Held within the atmospheric surroundings of this historic coaching inn — a landmark of the Cotswolds for over six centuries — these creative experiences capture everything we love about the season: warmth, togetherness, and the simple joy of making something beautiful by hand.

Create a personal piece
Hosted by Shelley Spencer, Creative Director of Broadway Florist, each workshop offers the chance to craft a unique wreath bursting with seasonal colour and texture. Under Shelley’s expert guidance, participants will create a personal piece to take home — a beautiful reflection of the season and a reminder of time well spent in inspiring company.
Workshops are held in two seasonal editions: the Autumnal Wreath-Making & Afternoon Tea during half term, and the Christmas Wreath-Making & Afternoon Tea later in the season. Afternoon Tea is served at 2.30pm, followed by the workshop from 4pm until 5/5.30pm. A charitable donation from every ticket sold will support the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, adding a wonderful sense of purpose to a delightful experience.

A chance to pause
Workshops like these are more than just creative pastimes — they’re a chance to pause, connect, and nurture your wellbeing. Taking time to create with your hands has been shown to reduce stress, inspire mindfulness, and boost mood. Shared experiences such as these are also a wonderful way to bond with friends and family, offering laughter, learning, and memories that last far longer than the day itself.
Creativity, conversation, and Cotswold charm
The Cotswolds, with its artistic heritage and sense of calm, is the perfect setting for such experiences. Across the region, workshops flourish — from floristry and art to cookery and craft — each one celebrating local talent, creativity, and the spirit of community that defines this beautiful corner of England.
Whether you come to learn, unwind, or simply spend quality time with loved ones, The Lygon Arms’ wreath-making workshops promise a memorable afternoon filled with creativity, conversation, and Cotswold charm — all in the glow of one of Britain’s most historic hotels.
