Josser, a culinary hub in Cirencester

∙ From Circus Wagon to TV Star to Cotswold Chef ∙
What began under canvas, fostering connections around communal tables filled with food and laughter has blossomed into one of the Cotswolds’ most captivating culinary narratives. Now, Josser, the beloved roaming restaurant, is celebrating two significant milestones: a recent feature on Channel 4’s ‘George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces’ and an exciting summer residency right back home at Cirencester’s St Michael’s Park.

Rooted in Cirencester
The heartwarming story of Josser is deeply rooted in Cirencester, where childhood sweethearts Ols and Amber first met over a decade ago while working side-by-side at ‘Made by Bob’ and ‘Sue Parkinson.’ Ols, an award-winning chef and co-author of the critically acclaimed Giffords Circus Cookbook, infuses every dish with his 11 years of touring culinary experience. Amber, a yoga teacher trained in Rishikesh, complements their unique vision with her passion for community connection and wellbeing.
An amazing space
Their innovative converted lorries, which ingeniously serve as both family home and restaurant, garnered national attention on ‘George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces,’ airing in March 2025. The episode beautifully captured the essence of what makes Josser truly extraordinary—a unique space where their young son, Zeph, has learned his first words amidst the joyous sounds of clinking plates and the warmth of a thriving community.

Magical evenings
“Being featured on Amazing Spaces feels like celebrating everything we’ve built,” shared Ols. “From those first magical evenings in our tent, where the scent of freshly baked bread and roasted garlic mixed with laughter and shared stories, to watching George Clarke explore our home-on-wheels… every step has led us here.”
Following the tremendous success of their ‘Christmas Under Canvas’ dining experience and popular weekend brunches at Cacklebean Farm, Josser was poised to create a vibrant new hub of community at St Michael’s Park, Cirencester, which opened on 9 April and will stay open until 21 September.

Daily transformation
The versatile space transforms throughout the day, offering everything from serene morning yoga sessions and delicious homemade cakes to relaxed brunches and intimate, candlelit dinners beneath twinkling lights.
“This isn’t just about serving food,” Amber added. “It’s about creating a space where friendships bloom over sharing plates, where business partnerships spark over morning coffee, and where families celebrate their precious moments together.”
An extraordinary addition
Josser is a truly unique and extraordinary addition to St. Michael’s Park, bringing a one-of-a-kind dining experience to the popular destination, it blends creativity, craftsmanship, and culinary excellence in a way that has never been seen before. The transformation of a vintage circus lorry into a beautifully designed mobile restaurant is nothing short of remarkable. With its intimate candlelit atmosphere and ever-evolving menu, Josser is set to offer visitors an unforgettable experience in the heart of nature. We are thrilled to welcome this innovative concept to the park and can’t wait for the community to enjoy it.

The next exciting chapter
The ‘Amazing Spaces’ episode followed the family as they skillfully navigated life in their mobile home while serving up exceptional dining experiences across the Cotswolds, beautifully showcasing how innovative design can craft extraordinary spaces in the most unexpected places.
Now, it’s time for the next exciting chapter of the Josser story to unfold, inviting the community to be a part of their unique culinary adventure.
