• Our fantastic getaway at Hoburne Cotswold ∙ A luxurious and dog-friendly weekend stay

Our recent weekend getaway at Hoburne Cotswold Holiday Park exceeded all expectations. We stayed in one of their luxurious static caravans, a spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a fully equipped kitchen, living room, hallway, and a large decking area. The highlight was undoubtedly the enormous hot tub – we could have invited 6 friends to join us in there and still had space to wiggle our toes. We didn’t… instead, we selfishly kept it all to ourselves and spread out, which was just perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Cirencester and the Cotswold countryside.

The perfect place to stay in the Cotswolds with dogs

We were delighted to discover that the park and our caravan welcome dogs. We have two dogs: Sadie, a big poodle/setter cross, whose long legs and complete lack of leg-tail-nose coordination we felt might be a bit much for a stay in a caravan (as it turned out, Sadie would have been absolutely fine, so we’ll bring her next time) and Maisie, a tiny chihuahua who fits snugly under one’s arm and loves an adventure. So, we left Sadie at home and went on a dog-friendly weekend away self-catering in the Cotswolds with Maisie, who received the warmest of welcomes with a doggy goodie bag filled with treats, chewies, and a lovely blanket.

    Compact and spacious

The caravan had everything needed for a comfortable self-catering stay away, including a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and a complete set of kitchenware. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom had a fantastic power shower. The caravan’s layout was thoughtfully designed, combining spaciousness with functionality… it somehow felt compact and spacious at the same time. The living area was great with two large sofas, tv, and a large dining area.

    Perfect for families

The park itself was a paradise for families, offering a plethora of entertainment options. The swimming pool, lake, huge play area, and games room would keep kids entertained for days. While we didn’t dine at the on-site restaurant, it looked inviting and appealing. The service throughout our stay was exceptional, with friendly and helpful staff at the pool and reception.

    Perfect for the South Cotswolds

Hoburne Cotswold Holiday Park’s location is ideal for exploring the South Cotswolds, with one of our absolute favourite towns, Cirencester, just a 5-minute drive away. Now, we had rain, thunder, and lightning this weekend, so we left the walking boots in the caravan and scrapped the idea of exploring the nearby lakeside walks – it might have been fine for us, but Maisie is not big on rain, mud and puddles. Instead, we took advantage of being in the beautiful south and we went on a long drive, enjoying all the outstanding natural beauty from the roads, and then we went into Cirencester.

    Utterly charming Cirencester

Cirencester is one of our favourite places to go in the Cotswolds. It’s an utterly charming town, renowned for its vibrant independent shopping scene and welcoming atmosphere. The town has some of the most unique shops and cafes around, many are independent and selling everything from antiques and vintage clothing to artisan arts and crafts and gourmet food. For coffee lovers and those who enjoy cafe-life (which we do!) there are so many luurvely independent cafes, and most of them are dog-friendly.

The perfect base for stays in the Cotswolds

We had such a wonderful weekend. Hoburne Cotswold is the perfect base for a visit to the South Cotswolds. Whether you’re visiting the Cotswolds with dogs, as a family, or on a weekend away for two, the Hoburne Cotswold caravan park gets our biggest stamp of approval. We enjoyed relaxing by the hot tub, reading books, watching TV, and playing board games in our caravan and the park provided a perfect balance of activities and relaxation.
