On the last Saturday in October, as the sun shone unexpectedly bright on a crisp Autumn day, we set out for what was going to be a wonderful day and a lovely spa experience at Tewkesbury Park.

BUT FIRST… COFFEE ∙ We arrived an hour before our massage treatments were booked, so we found a corner in one of the lovely lounges at the hotel where we could have a drink while we waited. As we sipped a lovely cuppa, we enjoyed the spectacular views of the golf course and the rolling Cotswold hills. No matter where you are at Tewkesbury Park, there’s a view to take your breath away. Warm hospitality and friendly service is a given at this hotel, so this all made for a perfect start to our day of relaxation.

FULL-BODY MASSAGE TREATMENT ∙ At midday we went to the spa to check in for our massage treatments. A whole hour and a fantastic full-body massage later, we were relaxed and ready to enter the spa. We started with a swim in the indoor pool, which was the ideal place to unwind even further after our relaxing treatment.

THE HOT OCTOBER SUN ∙ It was, however, the outdoor facilities that truly stole the show on this day in late October. The sun loungers, which you would not have expected to be in use this late in the year, were bathed in warm sunshine as we ventured outside. It was unseasonably warm and just wonderful.

JUST PLAIN FABULOUS HOT TUB ∙ After our session of soaking up the sun in the loungers, we went on for a dip in the outdoor hot tub, which was exactly as advertised: Relaxing, rejuvenating, and just plain fabulous!

SAUNA WITH A VIEW ∙ Then it was time for the sauna, which is in the cutest little pod outside on the spa terrace and a bit of a unique experience, as the pod has windows, allowing us to enjoy the warmth while still feeling like we were a part of everything on the outside. And just like that, it was time to finish a super spa day, which we did by cooling down in the pool… we’d had an absolutely wonderful time.

SPARKLING AFTERNOON TEA FINISH ∙ To bring our lovely and relaxing spa to the perfect conclusion, we indulged in a luxurious sparkling afternoon tea. We were seated in the restaurant at a table next to the huge windows with the incredible views of all the outstanding natural beauty and the impressive golf course.

A TOUCH OF ELEGANCE ∙ As we poured and brewed the loose-leaf tea, our afternoon tea tiers were placed in front of us, and we dug in, thoroughly enjoying the delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and delectable pastries. The bubbles added a touch of elegance to the experience, and as we clinked the champagne flutes, it was the perfect way to end a fantastic spa day at Tewkesbury Park.
