A evening with Gusbourne English wines at The Swan in Ascott-under-Wychwood

The Swan at Ascott under Wychwood invites guests to an exclusive evening of fine dining and English elegance with a Gusbourne Tasting Dinner on Thursday 20 November.

Hosted by Simon Bradbury of Gusbourne, whose 30 years of wine expertise promise a fascinating and flavourful journey, the event will showcase a seasonal five-course menu expertly paired with Gusbourne’s award-winning English wines.

∙ TRIO OF CANAPÉS ∙ The evening begins in style with a trio of canapés — tomato consommé, fig with bocconcini and Serrano ham, and miso tuna with pickled cucumber — beautifully complemented by Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs 2017, celebrated for its depth and finesse.

∙ A WONDEFUL MAIN COURSE ∙ Guests will then enjoy lobster ravioli with bisque, fennel, and garlic, paired with the newly released Oak Reserve 2019, an oaked Blanc de Blancs that brings richness and structure. The main course — venison haunch steak with potato hash, carrot & orange purée, and crispy kale — will be elevated by the expressive Blanc de Noir 2020, crafted from red grapes for added complexity.

∙ SOUFFLÉ FINISH ∙ A cheese course follows, paired with the elegant Guinevere Chardonnay 2022, before a showstopping finale: winter berry soufflé with spiced orange jam and clotted cream, perfectly matched with Gusbourne Brut Rosé 2019.
