Tucked beneath the railway arches in Leamington Spa, The Warwickshire Gin Company is fast becoming one of Warwickshire’s best-loved craft distilleries.  Founded in 2018 by David Blick and by 2020, the operation had grown to include its own 50-litre copper still in a purpose-designed facility in Leamington Spa.

From the start, the distillery has embraced a balance of traditional technique and local storytelling. Their philosophy is to “capture a moment in history” — to translate the character, lore, and landscape of Warwickshire into aroma, flavour, and formulation.

The spirits range

Over time, the product line has expanded well beyond a simple gin offering. Today the distillery produces:

∙ Six gins, each with its own botanical profile and narrative connection to local history or mythology (for example: Leamington on Parade, inspired by a local 19th century elephant trainer’s journey, combining Ceylon tea with classic gin botanicals).

∙ Three rums, covering honey, spiced, and white varieties.

∙ A vodka (branded Kingmaker Vodka) with subtle botanical touches, including frankincense.

Each product is distilled in small batches, using a copper pot still, with close attention to detail in botanicals, infusion, and finish.

Visitor experiences and events

The distillery is open to the public on Thursdays through Sundays, hosting a range of immersive experiences.

∙ Gin Tasting Experience — guests sample multiple spirits (gin, rum, vodka), learn about the distillation process, hear the stories behind each recipe, and enjoy G&Ts.

∙ Afternoon “Gin & Tea” — combining the elegance of afternoon tea with distillery atmosphere and drinks.

∙ Cocktails at the Distillery — a more social evening format, where guests can choose cocktails made with the distillery’s spirits in a relaxed, ambient setting.

Beyond these, they also offer mobile bar hire, corporate gifting, and custom spirits for special occasions or branded events.

Though still fairly young, Warwickshire Gin has rapidly gained a reputation for quality and charm.
