Our super day out at the Three Counties Food + Drink Festival

26 July 2025 – What a Saturday we just had! We had asked two of our best friends to join us, so out we went, indulging in delicious aromas, vibrant flavours, and a fantastic atmosphere at the Three Counties Food + Drink Festival.
From the moment we arrived at the Three Counties Showground, there was an air of excitement, and we dove straight in with a walk through the stalls, full of traders showcasing some of the best food and drink from the Cotswolds and a bit beyond, all happy to chat and share delicious samples.

Lunch at The Big Fat Greek
Then it was time for lunch and what turned out to be a lovely highlight of our outing. There were so many to choose from, but The Big Fat Greek food truck took our fancy and what a lunch they served up. They were lovely, nothing was too much trouble, they catered on the spot to our veggie and vegan requests, and we had the most delicious lunch, enjoyed seated on hay bales and surrounded by our fellow festival goers, the atmosphere was fantastic!
Special guests from the culinary scene
Beyond the street food, the festival was jam-packed full of artisanal delights and for those looking to expand their culinary knowledge (or just enjoy a good show), the live cookery theatre was a major draw. With special guests from the culinary scene and fabulous TV chefs and personalities there was something exciting happening on the stage or in the activities tents all the time. Everyone loved the fabulous Cherish Finden from Bake Off: The Professionals, Simon Rimmer from Sunday Brunch, and TV chef Chris Bavin to name but a few, it was a star-studded event.

An Unforgettable Gin Tasting Experience
We were particularly keen to try one of the festival’s bookable sessions, the gin tasting event with Hentony Gin which turned out to be a real revelation. This wasn’t just about sipping gin; it was a fantastic, interactive experience. During this unique tasting, all attendees were guided through the fascinating story behind Hentony Gin and its meticulous craftsmanship. We delved into a captivating presentation, exploring the key ingredients that give these artisanal gins their distinctive character. Best of all, we had the pleasure of sampling at least three exquisite gins, including their signature Hentony Gin. It was a wonderful opportunity to compare tasting notes, upskill our gin knowledge, and just enjoy this delicious, artisanal, local gin.
Fantastic local makers and creators
It wasn’t just about food and drink, either. The festival also boasted a wonderful selection of gorgeous gifts, crafts, garden and homewares from fantastic makers and creators. We couldn’t resist a visit to the flower sale, and we went home with some absolutely beautiful blooms to brighten up our garden.
An incredible day out
Overall, the festival atmosphere was fantastic. Music filled the air, people were laughing and chatting, and there was a sense of joy at every turn… a feast for all the senses
The Three Counties Food + Drink Festival was a huge success. We had an incredible day out, met some passionate producers, and indulged in delicious treats. We’re already counting down the days to the event next year. ∙ Keep updated on next year’s dates here ∙
