• Spring on a Plate: The fantasticĀ Springtime Tasting Menu at Buckland Manor

Whenever we go to Buckland Manor, it’s an experience to remember and today was no different. The sun was shining, the building exuded its usual sense of manor house grandeur, and the manicured gardens were bursting with vibrant blooms… we were in for a treat and we hadn’t even made it inside yet!

As per usual, when we went inside, the warm welcome from the staff instantly set the tone and it was a sure thing: We were in for a lovely afternoon and another great culinary experience.

    A culinary journey

Escorted to our table, we were so pleased to find that it overlooked the picturesque gardens and that the sun was peeping through the clouds for us. We were seated and shown what we so eagerly had awaited: The Spring Tasting Menu, a culinary journey that Head Chef Mark Potts had created from local produce and homegrown herbs and produce from the hotel’sĀ ownĀ gardens. And as all dietary requirements are catered for expertly and lovingly at Buckland Manor, Mark had even created a vegan menu, especially for me.Ā Ā

The Spring Tasting Menu was a symphony of fresh, seasonal ingredients, one that, on paper, promised to tantalise our taste buds. And dish by dish, from amuse-bouches and starters to mains, pallet cleansers and several sweet treats to finish, the promise went from paper to reality… it was a beautiful, culinary experience, completely delicious.

    Seasonal and homegrown produce

No spring menu would be complete without celebrating the season’s bounty of fresh vegetables, and each time we were served something grown in the gardens just outside, this was pointed out and celebrated.

Every element on every plate worked in perfect harmony, showcasing the chef’s artistry and respect for ingredients.

    Masterclass in fine dining

The entire experience at Buckland Manor was a masterclass in fine dining. The attentive service by Tegan, who was friendly, knowledgable, and charming, the ambience in the restaurant, and most importantly, the exquisite food, left us feeling pampered and satisfied. It wasn’t just lunch; it was a celebration of the season, local produce, and the art of culinary creation.

    Exquisite Spring Tasting Menu

As we reluctantly left Buckland Manor, the warm afternoon sun kissed our faces, and the scent of the gardens in spring bloom lingered in the air. The Cotswolds had once again cast its spell, and the memory of the exquisite Spring Tasting Menu will be etched in our minds (and our taste buds) for a long, long time.
