A Christmas Treat ∙ Festive Afternoon Tea at The Wood Norton
The Wood Norton, a historic hotel in Worcestershire in the north Cotswolds, is the epitome of English country charm. With its stunning architecture, beautifully landscaped gardens, and warm, inviting atmosphere, it’s the most wonderful place to escape to for an overnight stay, a relaxing weekend away, or a culinary experience.
FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING ∙ Recently, we had the pleasure of indulging in a festive afternoon tea at The Wood Norton. Service is always friendly and everyone is welcoming at The Wood Norton. We were shown into the lounge and as we fell back into the cosy chairs, we were enveloped by the warm glow of the fireplace… ahh, we were in for a lovely experience.

A CULINARY MASTERPIECE ∙ We were served a beautiful festive afternoon tea and it was a culinary masterpiece presented to us in a round 3-tier stand. The lower tier showcased a selection of exquisite finger sandwiches, each one more delicious than the last. The bread was soft and fresh, and the fillings were plentiful, flavourful, and fantastic.
YES, YOU READ IT RIGHT ∙ The middle tier was a feast for the eyes, with a variety of festive cakes and pastries. Each bite was a burst of flavour, from the delicate macarons, the mince pie and the lemon posset to the rich and decadent Christmas cake and the meringue-topped brownie… yes, you read that right. And no afternoon tea is complete without the classic scones, which were served with the finest clotted cream and strawberry jam. It was all just complete festive afternoon tea perfection.
As we enjoyed (well, devoured, really!) each bite, we had such a wonderful afternoon. The combination of delicious food, warm ambience, and excellent service made for a truly memorable experience.
