The Chestnuts is a luxury traditional stone cottage in the heart of the beautiful village of Shilton with the Shill Brook running through it.
With three lounges, large dining area and chefs equipped kitchen it’s perfect for families or groups of friends. The main lounge has comfy sofas, a smart TV with sound-bar and an inglenook woodburner to cosy up to.
The library lounge is full of books but also converts to a mini cinema room with blackout blinds. This room can also be converted to a fifth downstairs bedroom with the use of the sofa bed.
Step into the garden lounge and whatever the weather you can enjoy views over the garden and the to the village ford beyond.
The four double bedrooms have heavenly beds and goose-down duvets. The two masters having king-size beds and Juliet-balconies overlooking the private rear garden. There are three luxurious, spa-like bathrooms.
The downstairs patio doors lead to the rear garden terrace, making it a really light filled and welcoming space and underfloor heating and inglenook fireplace mean it’s toasty in winter.
The garden is landscaped and has numerous places to sit and relax with a coffee or a glass of wine. With sun loungers, a BBQ and views over the adjoining meadow, you won’t want to leave. The local pub ‘The Rose and Crown’ serves excellent food and the historic medieval town of Burford is just a short drive.
The cottage is perfectly positioned to explore the highlights of The Cotswolds. The Cotswolds Wildlife Park is just a five minute drive away, as is Crocodiles of the World and the well known Burford Garden Centre.
For families we have a toy and tiny tots box, as well as books and games and we provide cots, high chairs and stairgates free of charge.

Culls Cottage is an award winning, chic, historic Cotswold cottage, the main part of which dates back to the 1670s. It sleeps up to six and is perfect for families or groups of friends. The cottage retains many original features including beamed ceilings and a large inglenook fireplace.
All the rooms are interior designed in soothing neutral colours with original art works and artefacts. Culls comprises a lounge with comfy sofas and an inglenook woodburner. Relax on the day bed in the snug or use the desk to catch up with the office or write your first novel. The glass entry atrium is a perfect coffee spot and features a glass covered original well. It leads into the dining room / kitchen with patio doors that take you onto the lower terrace. A great place to have an alfresco breakfast.
From the atrium you can also reach the downstairs double bedroom with shower ensuite. Upstairs the cottage has a further two double bedrooms, the master with a king size bed and a luxury family bathroom.
The cottage has every modern comfort which will make your stay totally relaxing; the fully-fitted kitchen has two ovens, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, two fridges and a freezer. It is equipped for the gourmet chef with all the utensils, cookery books and cooking equipment you should need, as well as the finest white bone china place settings and coffee espresso machine.
There are televisions in both the lounge and the master bedroom, together with an ipod Dock and digital radio. There is a small library of hand-picked books, information guides, maps, as well as games for all ages. Wireless internet keeps you fully connected.
For our young guests we have a Tiny Tots box with changing mat etc and a toys box, making it easy for families to have a worry free stay. A high chair, cot and stairgate can all be provided free of charge.
Culls Cottage is dog-friendly and will accept one small dog (under 15 kilos) and over one years old.
The large garden has a central lawn – perfect for handstands or picnics outside, as well as places to lounge, sit or dine. If you don’t fancy cooking, take a short walk to The Swan pub which has fantastic, locally sourced and freshly cooked food and local beers or The Ox Barn restaurant.
