A Blissful Balance ∙ A beautiful new space for women’s wellbeing in Wellesbourne

Just 18 months after taking a huge leap and leaving a 21-year career in social work to start her own business, Karin Minton has opened the doors to an exciting new chapter for A Blissful Balance.

The holistic beauty therapist has moved her growing business into much larger premises on School Road in Wellesbourne, transforming the former Parish Council offices into a dedicated women-only wellbeing space with five treatment rooms, space for workshops and events, and a growing team of independent female therapists and wellbeing professionals.

And while the expansion is undoubtedly an exciting business milestone, A Blissful Balance has always been about much more than treatments.

∙ A PLACE WHERE WOMEN CAN FEEL SEEN ∙

At the heart of Karin’s approach is something she describes as supporting the ‘Unseen Woman’.

Her clients come for all sorts of reasons and at all different stages of life. Some simply want an hour to themselves and a lovely treatment. Others may be navigating motherhood, divorce, bereavement, perimenopause and menopause, neurodiversity, anxiety, low confidence, chronic illness, retirement, or major life changes.

Others arrive carrying much more difficult experiences, including trauma or domestic abuse.

Whatever brings someone through the door, Karin’s aim is to create somewhere women can feel listened to, valued, and comfortable being themselves.

“My aim has always been to create somewhere women of all ages and backgrounds can come and feel genuinely seen, listened to and supported, whether they are visiting for a treatment, attending an event or simply taking some much-needed time for themselves.”

∙ LOTS OF WELLBEING UNDER ONE ROOF ∙

The move has allowed A Blissful Balance to bring together a wider team of practitioners, offering an impressive variety of treatments and therapies in one place.

These include massage, reflexology, advanced facials, Reiki healing, lymphatic drainage, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, sound healing, counselling, and therapeutic coaching.

The five treatment rooms are complemented by a larger area where Karin plans to host workshops, classes, women-only events, and opportunities simply to get together and connect.

It’s that sense of community that makes the new A Blissful Balance particularly interesting. This isn’t intended to be somewhere clients simply arrive for an appointment and leave again. Karin wants to create a welcoming place women can return to throughout different stages of their lives.

∙ FROM ONE TREATMENT ROOM TO FIVE ∙

The expansion is particularly impressive considering A Blissful Balance began less than two years ago with just one treatment room on nearby Warwick Road.

For Karin, a former Stratford Girls’ Grammar School student, starting the business also represented an enormous personal change. After 21 years as a social worker, she changed direction following her own experiences of trauma, loss, and divorce.

That journey has shaped much of what A Blissful Balance has become.

Karin said: “Opening A Blissful Balance has been a huge step for me, and I’m so excited to finally welcome women through the doors of our new venue.

“What began as one treatment room less than two years ago has grown into a women-only space with five treatment rooms and an area for workshops, classes and events.”

And she’s not finished growing the community. Karin is currently looking for more women who would like to bring their own skills and businesses into A Blissful Balance, joining the other independent therapists and wellbeing professionals working from the venue.

∙ COME AND HAVE A LOOK ∙

The new A Blissful Balance is now open at 2 School Road, Wellesbourne, and there’s a particularly good opportunity to have a proper look around this September.

On Saturday 19 September, from 11am until 2pm, Karin and the team will be holding a special launch event, inviting everyone to come in, explore the new space, and meet the people behind it.

There’ll be complimentary mini treatments, refreshments, wellness stalls, opportunities to meet the therapists, and goodie bags for the first 50 visitors.

Whether you already know A Blissful Balance or have never stepped through the door before, it’s a lovely opportunity to discover what Karin has created.

∙ SUPPORTING THE ESTHER PROJECT ∙

The launch will also support a cause particularly close to Karin’s heart, The Esther Project, a Leamington-based Community Interest Company supporting women across Warwickshire who are facing multiple and complex challenges, including domestic abuse, homelessness, trauma, poor mental health, and addiction.

A raffle at the launch will raise money for the organisation, with some fabulous prizes to be won along the way.

It feels particularly fitting for a celebration of a business built around supporting women to also help an organisation doing such important work for women within the local community.

∙ ALREADY MAKING AN IMPRESSION ∙

Although A Blissful Balance is still a relatively young business, Karin’s work is already attracting plenty of attention.

The business has been recognised across a number of awards, including finalist places for Beauty Therapist of the Year at The Beauty Full Awards, the UK Small Business Awards, the Stratford Herald Business & Tourism Awards, and The Beauty Awards’ Beauty Excellence category.

A Blissful Balance has also received a Highly Recommended Award from Fresha.

But perhaps the biggest indication of how far the business has come is the new space itself. In just 18 months, Karin has gone from a single treatment room and a completely new career to creating a five-room wellbeing destination and bringing a community of female practitioners together under one roof.

And, most importantly, she’s created exactly what she originally set out to create: a place where women can come through the door and feel seen.

A Blissful Balance is now open at 2 School Road, Wellesbourne, CV35 9NA. Karin can also be contacted at karin@ablissfulbalance.co.uk by women interested in joining the team of practitioners.
