• Water Fun in the Cotswolds

Wait, what? There’s no water in the Cotswolds, right? Wrong… there is, and there’s so much fun to be had with it.

You probably already know that people come from far and wide to the Cotswolds for walking, hiking, cycling and all kinds of outdoor activities. We’re known for all that. What we’re less known for is water sports and beach holidays, but if that’s what you seek, you shall find that in the Cotswolds.

So… here are Seven Super Places to enjoy a Water holiday in the Cotswolds:

Get just your feet wet in Bourton-on-the-Water

If what you’re looking for is more like a “just getting your feet wet” kind of experience, there’s always one of our most popular town, Bourton-on-the-Water, where you can hop in without getting your knees wet, sit on the edge of the river a dangle your toes in the water, and even have a fun game of water football.

    The Ultimate Water Splash Experience

Jump it, splash it, slide it, bounce it on our giant inflatable AquaVenture for the ultimate total wipe-out style experience. Our huge AquaVenture can take up to 100 people per hour, with buoyancy aid included and wetsuits available to hire; it’s the ultimate venue for birthday parties, school groups, hen activities and corporate team building. Lido Fun in the Cotswolds

Sandford Park Lido in Cheltenham – it’s HOT!

“This lido in the centre of Cheltenham is FANTASTIC! The water is heated, the main pool is huge and has a slide, the toddler pool is even warmer and super lovely for the little ones… and with the cafe and great facilities, you can esily spend the whole day here (something we’ve often done).

With the added convenience of being just 20 minutes from where we live, Sandford Parks Lido is one of our favourite places to go for a day out in the Cotswolds on hot summer days”, Mette ♡‬

Chipping Norton Lido – it’s COOL!

The Lido in Chipping Norton is cool… not cold (it’s fully heated, in fact), just super cool because it’s fabulous and run really well by locals as a charity since 2004. This Lido has two fully-heated outdoor pools (a 25m swimming pool and a toddlers’ paddling pool) as well as a lovely café and a large, tree-lined lawn, making it perfect for families looking for an afternoon’s outdoor fun.

The Chipping Norton Lido is reliant upon the generous support of the public to maintain the treasured facility, so please do contribute anything you can to help keep the pool open for future generations.

Droitwich Spa Lido – it’s SALTY!

We know that The Lido in Droitwich Spa isn’t exactly in the Cotswolds, but it’s really close to the North Cotswolds (about a 25-minute drive from Broadway) and it deserves a special mention here because it’s filled with SALTWATER!

Droitwich Spa Lido is one of Britain’s last remaining inland, open air saltwater pools. The water is heated to a Mediterranean 23°c and the site boasts a sun terrace, beach entry, café and children’s wet play area with water cannons and fountains. Absolutely fabulous and the setting for many a hot summer day for us over the years.

    Water Sports and fun Lakeside

The Watersports Lake at The Cotswold Country Park and Beach is the place to go for kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and more. Head to the water with friends and family for pay and play water activities. Hire a swan pedalo and glide along the lake, captain your own electric mini port boat, row the lake or simply enjoy a paddle at either the Main Beach or Kids Beach! Everything is available for hire at the Dragonfly Reception.
